Eagles help inaugurate Pleasant Valley Fields

The Eagles Soccer Club helped to inaugurate the grand opening of the brand new Pleasant Valley Fields, a 55-acre sports park next to the Village at the Park in Camarillo, by hosting a soccer tournament over the weekend. Pleasant Valley Fields features 11 full-size soccer fields, which can be divided into more than 25 smaller fields for youth soccer matches. The $11.2 million park also has three softball diamonds, a classroom, offices, two snack bars, a playground and storage facilities.

GU15 Nomads Thanksgiving Tournament Champions

Congratulations to the Eagles GU15 Blue team and their coach Mikey Alexander on their outstanding play over Thanksgiving weekend.  Over three days the Eagle players amassed a 4-0-2 record to capture the Championship of the Nomads Thanksgiving Tournament.  It was a soggy weekend, weather wise, where in pool play the Eagles tied Carlsbad Lightening Red, beat Palmdale Thunder, and tied Marin FC 95 Blue to win their bracket and move to the quarterfinals.  In the quarters they beat LAFC Chelsea White and moved on to the Semis where they beat Palo Alto FC 95 Blue Victory. The final game pitted the Eagles against FWU Reign 94 from Federal Way, Washington, where the Eagles finished the tournament winning 2-0.   It was the icing on the cake to a successful season before the players move on to their high school soccer season.

Eagles Soccer Club and Real California Futbol Club to Merge

The Eagles Soccer Club is excited to announce that they have entered into a merger agreement with the Real California Futbol Club. The merger will begin on March 1, 2010 when the teams at Real California will become officially become Eagles. Tim Kelly, the director at Real California, will work as the Eagles director of younger girls. Please make the players, parents and coaches coming from Real California feel welcome. This is an exciting time at the Eagles as the sod is being laid at the Village of the Park fields in Camarillo and we can't wait to step onto the fields as one club. As always, we are proud to be a co-sponsored group with Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District.

Buddy and Kathleen Kelley
